Everyone deserves to build the foundation for a stable, healthy future for themselves and their families — no matter who they are, where they live or how much money they earn.

Through our five-year Cost of Home campaign, we commit to mobilizing our local Habitat organizations, our partners, our volunteers and community members across the country to find the solutions and help create the policies that will allow 10 million individuals to meet their most basic needs.

-- Advancing Black homeownership --

Habitat works to help dismantle the systemic bias that permeates U.S. home buying, home financing and exclusionary zoning practices, which have prevented generations of Black families from accessing the intergenerational wealth-building potential of homeownership.

-- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion --

Diversity, equity and inclusion is central and imperative for Habitat for Humanity. We believe in a world where everyone — no matter who we are or where we come from — deserves a decent place to live. And we recognize that, to create this world, our work must always break down barriers, bring people of all backgrounds together, and generate equity, respect and lasting change.

In the tradition of the radical inclusivity that infused our birthplace Koinonia Farm, Habitat’s leaders have committed to creating an environment where humility, open communication, dialogue and listening are our standard. As a space where people of all races, all faiths and all backgrounds come together in common cause, we also commit to being actively anti-racist.
